Disney Starlet Not Named Miley, Demi or Selena Engaged
Red carpets are good for all kinds of things: judging fashion, getting up close and personal with Ryan Seacrest, and, of course, letting slip previously secret engagements.
Which is exactly what happened to 23-year-old Sonny With a Chance starlet Tiffany Thornton, who, when asked at Monday night's Dear John premiere how she planned on spending her upcoming birthday, let loose with the following:
"My fiancé's gonna fly here; he lives in Arkansas, so I'm really excited." Um, fiancé?
Thornton, who was wearing her bauble on the red carpet, then confirmed that 29-year-old court officer Christopher Carney popped the question back in December. No wedding date has been set.

It's the Beginning of the End for Hannah Montana
The best of both worlds is slowly coming to a close.
Miley Cyrus and the rest of the Hannah Montana gang got back to work Monday on the show's fourth—and final—season of the Disney Channel megahit, and The Powers That Be are promising a doozy of a send-off.
Well, as much of a doozy as the wig-wearin' pop star can produce, that is.
This season's two-part cliffhanger, aptly titled "Miley Says Goodbye?" airs March 7 and March 14, setting up "exciting, pivotal story arcs and event episodes" delivered in the series' last year.
"This fourth season is an expression of Miley Cyrus' personal commitment to ensuring that 'Hannah' will live forever in the hearts and minds of kids everywhere," Disney's chief creative exec Gary Marsh says in a statement.
Hannah Montana's swan song premieres this summer.

No Shocker Here: Miley Cyrus and Hannah Montana to Part Ways
It was bound to happen sooner rather than later. Miley Cyrus simply wasn't going to be on Hannah Montana forever.
Of course, most people thought the wig would have come off by now.
Alas, Disney Channel has released a statement officially admitting that the network's biggest attraction will be coming to an end following the conclusion of the upcoming fourth season.
And, as far as we can tell, pole dancing, short skirts and boob tattoos had nothing to do with it.
Roy Disney, Who Stopped Mouse House From Sucking, Dies at 79
The kid who coined "Uncle Walt" and who grew up to save Disney's animation studio after years of disarray has died. Roy E. Disney succmbed to complications from stomach cancert at 79.
The nephew of Walt Disney, Roy was largely responsible for providing kids of the '80 and '90s with their childhood soundtrack. With from help of a couple of guys named Michael Eisner and Jeffrey Katzenberg, Roy oversaw such latter-day classics as The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King (after years of flops like The Black Cauldron), earning himself a personal fortune of roughly $600 million.
And that's not Mickey Mouse money. Except for the part that is.
RIP, Roy!

Miley, Demi, Selena & the JoBros Are the World
No need to pinch yourselves, tweeners. You're not dreaming.
Disney has gathered its brightest stars, Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and the Jonas Brothers for a "We Are the World"-like music video for Friends for Change: Project Green. "Send It On" is meant to unite the kiddies in green living and protecting planet Earth.
That's probably why they ditch the big stage and energy-sucking bright lights for the great outdoors. At first, we were really distracted by the oh-so-convenient intimate pairing of Miley and Nick Jonas. And then we were bugged by Joe Jonas wearing yet another pink shirt and impressed with Selena out-adorabling the lot of them. But we guess there was some sort of charitable point.
Somehow, though, the whole thing seems far less poignant than Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie and tons of other major stars teaming up for humanitarian aid in Africa. Maybe that's because it had nothing to do with powerful mice.

Miley Cyrus Is Single and Sad
The universe will not allow the whole Cyrus family to be happy. Gotta keep things in balance, that's The Secret or whatever.
Take Ms. Miley Cyrus. She declared herself :) to be single: "I am lovinggg being single :) life is so carefree!!! Spending the day enjoying Sonic, Music, @mommytish, and the beautiful sun in Savannah."
Could that mean she and Nick Jonas aren't really back together? Did all that jet skiing mean nothing? And how can she be so happy about it ending so soon if that's what really happened?
Oh, turns out Miley isn't so :) about her singledom. Just a few hours later she came down with a mean case of the sads. A sampling:
M*A*S*H Star "Out and Proud"
M*A*S*H's Maj. Charles Winchester has stepped out of the tent.
Actor David Ogden Stiers tells Gossip-Boy.com, "I am [gay]. Very proud to be so."
The 66-year-old actor, who played Cogsworth in Disney's Beauty and the Beast (and its subsequent straight-to-video releases), claims his success doing voice work made him nervous to reveal his true identity.
"What they might allow in a more known actor, they prefer not having to deal with in minor players," said Stiers, whose 'toon credits include Lilo & Stich: The Series and Justice League.
"I should say in regards to this that many of my fears were in modern times self-invented. I’ve been working internally on whether they were the problem or if I just continued using them as an excuse long after the call for conservative private lives passed."
Later in the interview, he added, "I wish to spend my life's twilight being just who I am."

It's a Jonas world and we're all just living in it!
The Jonas Brothers are venturing into television territory tonight with the premiere of their new Disney semi-docu-comedy JONAS and—we can't believe we're actually saying this—it's pretty fun.
Obviously created for those who love guys of the Kevin, Joe and Nick variety, the boys take time to tease about the personas the media has given them over the past few years. In fact, the premiere centers on Nick as a lovelorn Romeo, the littlest bro who falls in love too often (cue Miley Cyrus-Selena Gomez feud talk--again.)
There are cutesy musical numbers and some cheesy dialogue, but those JoBros can do no wrong. Most of the jokes are tongue-in-cheek, showing that these boys can roll with the punches and laugh at themselves.
In fact at one point, Joe tells Nick, "You're not dumb, you're just really intense, which is sad for you but lucky for us because we get great songs out of it." Well said, Joe. Well said.
An Upbeat, 3-D Animated Kickoff Set for Cannes
The Cannes Film Festival may bring a bunch of hot ladies to its topless beaches, but this year, it's starting off with a little less sex appeal.
Disney/Pixar is headed to the South of France to premiere its animated feature, Up, which has been tapped for the opening ceremony at the 62nd Festival de Cannes on May 13. This marks the first time an animated film has kicked off the très chic cinema celebrations.
The colorful, digital 3-D movie, directed by Pete Docter of Monsters, Inc. and Finding Nemo screenwriter Bob Peterson, follows a 74-year-old man (voiced by Ed Asner) who ties thousands of helium balloons to his house so that he can fly south and be alone. Unfortunately for him, a 9-year-old "Wilderness Explorer" (think Boy Scout) winds up going along for the ride. The film launches in U.S. theaters on May 29.
Last year's festival opener, Julianne Moore and Mark Ruffalo's Blindness, was considerably more bleak. This year's beachside events last through May 24, with Isabelle Huppert heading up the jury.
Hands Off the Miley Cyrus Snacks!
Miley Cyrus may be tasty, but you don't want to eat her. Or, at least, don't eat her Hannah Montana lunchbag-ready snacks.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency, along with the Peanut Corporation of America, has issued a safety recall of Disney Hannah Montana Peanut Chocolate Granola Bars due to possible salmonella contamination. These nut products are part of a wider peanut recall earlier this year.
The granola bars are just the tip of the branding iceberg for the corporation-size starlet, so the treats being pulled off shelves shouldn't hurt too badly. With books, movies, clothing, school supplies and food, who knows what could be next for the Cyrus brand?
And if you still crave a star-studded treat, perhaps try giving Kim Kardashian a lick.

Suite Brenda Song Sweeps Away Escort Service Suit
UPDATE: Defendant Vanessa Sena agreed to pay Song $16,000 in damages for using the actress' photo in an escort service ad. The judgment must be paid out by Dec. 1 or Sena, who also penned a letter of apology, risks owing Song $100,000.
___________________________________________________________________________
Disney starlet Brenda Song has reached a tentative settlement in her libel suit against a company who allegedly used her image in a newspaper ad for an escort service without her permission.
Needless to say, the Mouser never would have agreed to have her photo appear alongside the slogan, "Hawaiin [sic] beauty. Come get lei'd." Yet, the ads for Cityvibe.com appeared in several April 2008 editions of the L.A. Weekly.
The 20-year-old The Suite Life of Zack & Cody actress filed her complaint against Vibe Media Inc. and its owner, Ali Askari, in Los Angeles Superior Court on April 25, 2008, seeking more than $100,000 in damages for libel, intentional infliction of emotional distress and commercial misappropriation of her photo and likeness. The suit was amended a month later, naming Vanessa Sena of San Bernardino County as the defendant accused of taking the photo of Song from the Internet and using it in the ad.
According to Song's attorney, Laurence B. Steinberg, terms of the settlement agreement are still being finalized. He would not discuss the case outside the courtroom to maintain confidentiality.
A hearing is set for Feb. 25.
