Family Wants Second Autopsy for Real Housewife Kandi Burruss' Slain Fiancé

To get at the truth, the family of Kandi Burruss's late fiancé is looking to raise the dead.

A.J. Jewell did not have sickle-cell anemia, according to a spokesman for Jewell's relatives, who have requested that a second autopsy be performed by a private coroner to clear up any inconsistencies surrounding his death last month from a head injury sustained in a fight outside an Atlanta strip club.

Results are expected in about two weeks. The Real Housewives of Atlanta fixture was laid to rest over a month ago.

The Fulton County medical examiner ruled Jewell's death a homicide, and the other guy in the fight, Frederick Richardson, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter.

But Jewell's family disagrees with the finding that sickle-cell anemia aggravated his injuries.

Singing Burglar Suspect in Protective Custody

Sometimes the heavy bars on a jail cell aren't just to keep people in.

Nicholas Prugo, one of the key suspects in of a series of celebrity-targeting burglaries, was placed in protective custody after a Nevada court errantly shared an affidavit with the media that detailed how he ratted out his cohorts what the 18-year-old L.A. teen had been telling investigators about the crimes.

Interested parties apparently frown on such things, because both he and his family have since been the target of threats, according to Prugo's attorney, Sean G. Erenstoft.

"This is horrifying," Erenstoft tells E! News, referring to the Clark County Court's slip-up, which he says was a violation of Prugo's civil rights.

"This court's staff violated 200 years of common law...I think they were trying to please the media. I'm not saying whether it was intentional or just neglectful."

The document also revealed just how important Prugo is to the L.A. district attorney's case, Erenstoft says.

Rob Pattinson Charms Twilighters in Tokyo

Ecstatic screams and fluttering hearts translate the same in any language.

"Thank you all so much for coming," Robert Pattinson told a crowd of adoring fans in Tokyo, his latest stop on the whirlwind New Moon publicity tour.

"It's always really surprising, whenever we go anywhere in the world, there seems to be so many people everywhere who are just as passionate...It's always just amazing to find that out."

You'd think the British über-heartthrob would be used to it by now.

The largely female crowd started lining up hours ahead of time for Rob's appearance at Shinigawa Intercity Hall, where the ambiguously attached vampire portrayer took questions from the audience—which was instructed beforehand not to inquire about his personal life.

Yet the Edward-lovers found stuff to ask him, maybe about the movie or whatever. New Moon director Chris Weitz was also on hand for the Q&A session and to take pictures afterward, as was Japanese pop star Miliyah Kato, whose song "Destiny" has been heard in some of the film's trailers.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the world, Bella and Jacob held court...

Randy and Evi Quaid Wanted in All the Wrong Ways

Randy Quaid, Evi Quaid Jesse Grant/Getty Images

Randy Quaid's going to be spending his Christmas vacation in the clink if he isn't careful.

The Santa Barbara District Attorney's Office is drawing up the paperwork to have Quaid and his wife, Evi, extradited from Texas, where the duo opted to remain rather than show up for a court hearing today in their unpaid bill case.

"The DA's office will be seeking extradition of the Quaids," spokesman Lee Carter tells E! News. "That process will take at least two to three weeks. I started to prepare the extradition paperwork when they did not appear last week."

What foresight!

Now here's a woman Justin Timberlake is definitely not into.

The Grammy winner obtained a restraining order today against one Karen McNeil, who Timberlake's camp says has been treating herself to cab rides to his front door, E! News confirmed.

She showed up Thursday and wouldn't leave, resulting in her arrest when J.T.'s staff called the cops. In a declaration also filed Friday, security guard Ray Alvarez stated that the trunk of the cab McNeil rode in was full of clothing and other personal items.

Paps Give Michael Jackson's Kids the Lindsay Lohan Treatment

Prince Jackson, Paris Jackson, Blanket Jackson nationalphotogroup.com

Caution: Paparazzi in mirror are closer than they appear.

A security car trailing a vehicle that was carrying Michael Jackson's three children was rear-ended by a photographer this afternoon in Los Angeles, TMZ reports.

Prince Michael, Paris and Blanket are said to be fine, though we feel they're a little young to be experiencing the Hollywood starlet treatment.

Lindsay Lohan, for instance, was famously involved in several smashups caused by overeager paparazzi who just couldn't seem to stay off the girl's fender.

Luckily, the Jackson brood had a whole other vehicle between them and the offending photog, who took off before police arrived at the crash site, which was just a few miles away from the Jacksons' compound in Encino. A hit-and-run report was filed close to 2:30 p.m.

Earlier this month, a judge determined that the kids were doing "wonderfully" under the care of their grandmother Katherine.

She knew enough to arrange for that extra layer of vehicular paparazzi protection, didn't she?

Can't the paps just leave 'em alone? It would be a shame if the wee Jacksons end up in this gallery of celebs giving photogs the one-fingered salute.

Conrad Murray Went to Work for Michael Jackson and Look Where It Got Him

Michael Jackson's comeback may have been a career killer for Dr. Conrad Murray.

The Nevada-based cardiologist hasn't been able to practice medicine since getting sucked up in the postmortem Jackson saga, and that's why he now looks like a deadbeat, according to Murray's attorney.

"One of the reasons he went to work for Michael Jackson was to pay this off," lawyer Chris Aaron tells E! News, referring to the more than $13,000 in support payments he owes the mother of one of his children.

Not only did Murray never get paid for the weeks he spent as Jackson's personal physician, but all the media scrutiny has made him persona non grata in the public eye.

Murray missed a hearing on the child-support issue on Oct. 7 and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest. Aaron, who's repping the doc in these family matters, said his client's absence from the hearing was a simple oversight.

"Normally, he has a staff," Aaron said. "With everything going on, he's been in California, he's been having to go back and forth, and it just slipped through the cracks."

There is quite a bit going on, none of which can be considered conducive to productivity.

News Flash: The Hoff Is "Totally Normal"

David Hasselhoff is doing fine. But, as usual, the media's a bit on the sick side.

According to his attorney, the Hoff's trip to the hospital yesterday was a minor incident and was blown out of proportion after the fact.

"He is totally normal," lawyer Mel Goldsman told E! News Monday. "He was released almost immediately after he arrived at the hospital."

The America's Got Talent judge felt dizzy at his home Sunday afternoon and was taken to a nearby hospital by ambulance, prompting speculation that he had been nipping at the cooking sherry.

In fact, he was good to go after about an hour, Goldsman said. A rep for Hasselhoff explained that the actor was experiencing a side effect from taking the antinausea drug Antivert and Antabuse, which is used by recovering alcoholics to create acute sensitivity to booze.

Labor Pains Postpone Chris Brown Sentencing

Loading...

A judge wants to make sure that Chris Brown has plenty of labor days ahead of him.

The fallen R&B star's sentencing on an assault rap was postponed until Aug. 27 while the terms of his sentence are worked out between authorities in California and Brown's home state of Virginia, where he's hoping to serve the six months of community labor he was slapped with for attacking Rihanna.

Brown, who pleaded guilty to felony assault in June, was expected to be formally sentenced today to five years' probation, 180 days of labor and an anti-domestic-violence program (which he has already been ordered to complete in Los Angeles).

But the judge really wants to make sure Brown sweats out his sentence—something Virginia officials haven't been able to guarantee yet—hence the delay.

"I did not favor community service, I wanted it to be community labor," L.A. Superior Court Judge Patricia Schnegg reiterated, suggesting Brown should be doing such chores as roadside trash collection instead of lecturing school kids.

Inside the Latest Jackson Raids: Hard Drives, iPhone, Aliases Make the List

UPDATE: On Oct. 21, 2009, a Nevada judge unsealed the records pertaining to the searches of Murray's home, office and storage space, which were executed on the basis of probable cause that "evidence of excessive prescribing, prescribing to addicts, excess treatment or prescribing, prescribing to or treating and addict and manslaughter would be recovered in the search."

Clark County Court Judge Valerie Adair did not, however, allow the release of a later warrant served Aug. 11 on a Las Vegas pharmacy that is suspected of supplying Murray with propofol, the anesthetic that ultimately killed Jackson.
__________________________________________________________________________

The aftermath of Michael Jackson's death continues to unfold in black and white.

Having already combed through Dr. Conrad Murray's Houston offices and a public storage space, the Los Angeles Police Department and Drug Enforcement Administration assembled a team to tear through Murray's Vegas offices and home.

Authorities were looking for any signs of the anesthetic propofol and pretty much any document, correspondence or electronic record mentioning Jackson or one of 19 aliases, including the name Omar Arnold, a pseudonym the King of Pop had used in the past for medical purposes, and Prince Michael, Jackson's eldest (perhaps) son.

A few hours after executing their search warrants, officials toted away a few plastic bins and some thick manila envelopes. Who knows if among the following items they'll find some answers, too:

Another Day, Another Country for Angelina

Loading...

Angelina Jolie may be a woman of the world, but at the end of the day, she's ours.

The roving Goodwill Ambassador and son Maddox returned to Los Angeles Friday following their whirlwind trip to Iraq on behalf of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Mother and child kept their eyes on the prize—their chauffeured SUV—as they made their way out of LAX's Tom Bradley International Terminal through a back entrance, accompanied by one bodyguard and one assistant.

When asked by our cameraman how the trip went, Jolie nodded and said, "It was great."

And then she couldn't help but smile as she got into her waiting car, perhaps thinking of all the paparazzi waiting for her outside the front entrance of the terminal.

Not to mention the dude waiting for her back home.
