Jillian Michaels and the Case of the "Potentially Lethal" Diet Pill
Talk about a killer diet.
Biggest Loser star trainer Jillian Michaels is facing another weighty legal challenge: She's been hit with her third class-action lawsuit in a week for endorsing a diet supplement that supposedly doesn't work.
But the biggest bombshell in the latest complaint accuses the Jillian Michaels Maximum Strength Fat Burner of being "potentially lethal."
Jillian Michaels Stuck in Another Fat Suit
Jillian Michaels is getting a workout on the legal front.
The outspoken personal trainer and star of NBC's The Biggest Loser has been slapped with her second class-action lawsuit this week for endorsing a weight-loss supplement that allegedly failed to do the job.
The complaint, filed Thursday by California native Stephanie Creer, basically rehashes allegations first raised a day earlier by one Christie Christensen—that Jillian Michaels Maximum Strength Calorie Control doesn't live up to the packaging's boast of "two capsules before main meals and you lose weight...That's it!"
Update
Is Biggest Loser's Jillian Michaels a Big Fraud?
UPDATE: ThinCare International responded with the following statement:
"Not only have placebo-controlled, double-blind, published clinical studies been conducted on the active calorie-control compound in Jillian Michaels Maximum Strength Calorie Control, but that research was reviewed by some of the leading weight-loss experts in the world before Jillian would put her name on the product."

This isn't the kind of action Jillian Michaels is used to inspiring.
The Biggest Loser's star trainer is being called a big fraud in a lawsuit claiming her diet supplements don't work as advertised.
The Biggest Loser: Did the Red Team Really Throw the Weigh-In?
You wouldn't like Jillian Michaels when she's angry...
The Biggest Loser's tough-girl trainer has already sunk her teeth into Green Team member Migdella for her sullen attitude this season, and now it looks like she's got Red Team member Melissa in her sights as well. According to Jillian, Melissa threw the weigh-in for the second week in a row, and if the previews are any indication, Jillian will be letting Melissa have it in the next episode.
But are Jillian's accusations fair? We got the inside report from the ranch on Biggest Loser's latest eliminated participant, Maria Ventrella:
The Biggest Loser: Find Out How Patti Anderson Is Losing the Weight at Home
The Biggest Loser sent home one half of Team Purple last night, but mama Patti Anderson is still kicking it into high gear at home, and she says the weight-loss series experience has changed her life.
According to Patti: "Every part of my life has improved in one way or or another. It's just a true gift that I finally had this breakthrough. The show propelled me, but I'm willing to do the hard work. Everyday life has just gotten sweeter and more beautiful."
So how is Patti eating right and exercising at home, and how will daughter Stephanie do now that she's alone at the ranch? Here's what we learned:
You Gotta Love Charlie Sheen—er, Right?
Did you give up your Charlie Sheen habit for New Year's? Are you back on with The Bachelor and The Biggest Loser? And why is Lindsay Lohan stuck in her own personal Groundhog Day?
The answers—and more questions—in the first TV ratings quiz of 2010:
1. Has Sheen's domestic-violence arrest arrested Two and a Half Men's Nielsen development? Nope. The CBS sitcom has added viewers in each of its two (rerun) airings since Sheen's unmerry Christmas Day.
2. Did you keep your resolution to work out watch The Biggest Loser? Yup. Last night's season opener (estimated 11.7 million viewers) pulled the franchise's biggest-ever premiere audience among the demographically desirable (who, presumably, could benefit from doing a sit-up or two).
The Biggest Loser: "Half-Ton Twin" James Used Knee Injury as an "Excuse"
And so it begins. As America confronts its collective New Year's resolution to lose weight, NBC has launched a third season of The Biggest Loser: Couples, and the first official eliminee was James Crutchfield, one-half of the self-named "Half-Ton Twins."
We checked in with him about going home so early, the remarkable progress of his home-based weight-loss efforts, and even got some dish about what burgeoning romances he left behind at the ranch...

The Weight Is Over: Biggest Loser Wannabes Roll Out
You win some, you loser some.
NBC has revealed the 22 new contestants who will battle the bulge and each other when the ninth season of The Biggest Loser kicks off Jan. 5.
Fresh off its second-chances-themed eighth season, the forthcoming Loser season will feature "couples," though not necessarily in the romantic sense.
This year's token superlative contestant, who has the dubious distinction of being the heaviest competitor ever in the heaviest season ever, tips the scales at 526 pounds and partners with his Italian mother. Other root-for-them contestants include identical twin brothers who together weigh nearly half a ton, as well as a cancer-surviving mother who pairs up with her daughter in an effort to restore her health.
As always, Alison Sweeney returns to host the show, as do hard-ass results-oriented trainers Jillian Michaels and Bob Harper.
Here's the rundown of the 11 teams that will compete for the $250,000 prize and the title of Biggest Loser:

Tiger Woods is considered one of the greatest athletes in all of sports, so why should it come as a surprise that he philanders like a champ, too? Although, unlike in golf, he sure doesn't seem to be competing for the lowest score...
Biggest Loser Danny Reveals: My Wife Lost 60 Pounds, Too!
After losing 239 pounds during his stint on NBC's The Biggest Loser, season-eight winner Danny Cahill is headed home to Broken Arrow, Okla., to restart his family life, and there are some big changes in the works for the Cahills this holiday season.
Among other things, says Danny, "Whenever Christmastime comes, my wife would have to get on the ladder to put the Christmas lights on the house, because they don't make a ladder that handles 450 pounds. This year, I'm putting the lights up!" (Awww.)
What else has changed in Danny's world? Well, Mr. and Mrs. Cahill are apparently doing a home version of The Biggest Loser: Couple's Edition...
